Relax in what is almost the exact centre of the North Island in a cool, earth-insulated glamping site that overlooks lush Waikato farmland. Private, scenic and very comfortable with a hot shower, the farmland of Puketirau Valley spreads out at your feet, the sun sets over Mount Maungatautiri beside you and the Milky Way twinkles above. Laze amongst edible plants while paradise ducks call below and the sheep will come visiting in the hope of some treats. Totally private. Parking beside. All linen provided. Open fire barbecue. Hot massage shower and flush composting toilet. No power or wifi but lots of books and games. Cost per couple: $85 per weeknight, $95 p/n Friday & Saturday plus one-off $40 cleaning charge |

Get a taste of life on the farm, visiting our animals and doing the daily routine of whatever needs to be done; milking the house cow, feeding etc and tour the orchard and farm, discussing the purpose and benefits of our 500 productive plants. One to two hours.

Tramp over Mangatautiri (Sanctuary Mountain) transport
We can drop off at one end, and collect you from the other, or drop your car at one end and ferry you to the start - whichever you prefer.
Allow five to six hours to traverse the Mountain and enjoys the views and birdlife.

Te Waihou Blue Spring – 10km south. 1½hr walk alongside the stream to the source of crystal-clear water.
Mt Maungatautiri Bird Sanctuary – 25km from the Northern entrance or 35km to the Southern entrance. For those wanting to tramp Over the Mountain (5-6 hours) we can pick up and drop off - $60 p/c
Waikato River Trails – starts 5km west. Bike or ride for up to 103km - a pleasant 8km takes you to Arapuni dam and swingbridge.
Wairere Falls - 30km east. A climb to spectacular views of the Waikato Basin from the top of the falls.
Tirau Golf Club - 4km south. 65par, 18 hole course and friendly club house.
Okoroire Hot Springs Hotel - 10km east. Country pub, natural hot springs and 9-hole golf course.
Over the Moon Cheese - 14km south. Artisan cheese made on site
